Derek is in his second spell at Victoria Park. Having joined from Burnley, his first spell while the club was in the third division saw him score more than 50 goals including 26 in one season – still a record for the club. He left Ross County to spend 8 years in the Scottish Premier League, and it is this wealth of experience which makes him such a valuable addition to the team. Although he now plays in midfield rather than as an out and out striker, his vision and neat continuity play mean he is just as important as ever. He joined the Club as a player but, since passing his UEFA ‘A’ License, he has now taken the reigns of the coaching team.
