With a playing career that took in spells at Burnley, Aberdeen, Motherwell and Livingston Derek is used to competing at the very highest level. Older fans remember his first spell at Victoria Park where he scored over 50 goals for the Staggies, including 26 in a single season. Having returned as a player coach in 2006/07, Derek took over the role of Head Coach in October 2007 and guided the team to the Second Division title the same season. Highly motivated with a superb work ethic, Derek has worked hard to mould a team capable of competing in an exceptionally difficult league.
