This is our basic programme model. The course has been designed to deliver a combination of activity based and classroom based sessions over 6 weeks and usually incorporates a 2 week work placement with a local employer. The aims of the course are to improve self esteem and confidence, to encourage people to make positive decisions and to give constructive employability skills and practical job search support. This programme style is very informal and the content is delivered very flexibly whilst being tailored to individuals needs.
The aims and the content are the same but the focus will be more towards finding work.
The content will include amongst other topics:
- Working as part of a group.
- Individual Strengths and Weaknesses
- Barriers to progress
- Communication skills
- Physical activity
- Individual goal setting and Action Plans
- Basic fitness measurements
- Advice on diet and lifestyle
- Coaching of others
- Group discussion
- Interview technique
- Telephone technique
- Keyboard skills
