Kevin’s talent was spotted by Chelsea at an early age, and he travelled south to join their youth set-up. Originally loaned to Ross County at Under-19 level, it didn’t take long for him to make the step up to the first team. When his contract with Chelsea ended in summer 2006, he joined on a permanent basis having been a consistently strong performer during the 2005-06 season. Able to play either wide or centrally, his power and pace mean that he is equally comfortable starting or finishing attacks and his ability to consistently win headers is of great value to his team-mates and a constant worry to opposition defenders. He has certainly been among the goals at the start of the season, including coolly slotting away a vital penalty in the dying moments of the Challenge Cup tie against Alloa.
