Ross County needed to beat Berwick Rangers and see Airdrie lose to Brechin City to wrap up League Two. The pressure of crossing the line had been on the team for the last few weeks, but there was no sign of that in the convincing 4-0 win over Berwick, with Shields, Lawson and that man Barrowman (2) on the scoresheet. Brechin and Airdrie had been drawing all afternoon, but with time running out, Brechin substitute Nicky Walker scored to give them a 2-1 victory and the title was on it's way to Victoria Park for the first time in the Club's history.
It's been a long, hard fought season, but with County playing the best football seen in Dingwall for many a season, it's a well deserved crown, highlighted by the fact that 12 points are still up for grabs. Thanks should go to George Adams, the backroom staff and all volunteers who have worked tirelessly this season to make it all happen, to Derek and the players who have raised the standard of football this year and brought entertainment back to Victoria Park, and to all the fans who have stuck with us through thick and thin. Now that the title race is over, we can enjoy the remaining games of the season and look forward to Division One in the summer!
