The mammoth round trip to Berwick Rangers proved well worth it for County, as they moved to the top of the Second Division courtesy of an Andy Barrowman penalty. Unsurprisingly Dick chose to stick with virtually the same team that had beaten Raith the week before, with the only change being a fit again Barrowman replacing Higgins up front. Barrowman quickly justified the manager's decision when the Staggies were awarded a penalty after just 8 minutes which the striker duly converted, banishing the memory of his last minute miss form the spot against Airdrie in his last game. Despite several near misses for both sides - including an Alex Keddie header which rattled off the underside of the bar - the single goal proved enough to win a hard fought encounter.
Thanks to Ayr beating Raith the win was enough to put County 2 points clear at the top, and with two home games against Alloa and Brechin over the next two Saturday's the team will be looking to extend the unbeaten run of 4 games. Tickets for both games - as well as all games up to and including the match against Berwick Rangers on the 15th of December - are available now both from the Main Reception at the Stadium and also via the online shop.
