Versatile forward Michael Gardyne has signed a two year contract extension with Ross County, keeping him at the Club until Summer 2012. 'Midge' started the current season with a bang, coming off the bench to score a hat-trick in the first competitive game of the season against Alloa Athletic and has continued to be a key player having scored 8 goals in all competitions so far - including the decisive second goal in the home victory over local rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Derek was quick to stress that Michael brings far more to the team than just goals, "Michael is the sort of player who defenders hate playing against - he's got bags of pace, a few tricks up his sleeve and loves to run at defences. Time and again this season he's been key in unlocking opposition defences for us and his ability to play in numerous positions across the frontline and in midfield is invaluable. I think its extremely positive that talented young players like Michael and indeed Paul see their future as being at Ross County." |
