Paul Lawson Pens New Deal

Central mid-fielder Paul Lawson has put pen to paper on a contract which will see him remain at Victoria Park until the end of Season 2008 - 2009. The ex-Celtic player has impressed hugely since his arrival and been an important figure in County's rise to the top of the Second Division, a fact highlighted this weekend with a magnificent 25 yard strike which secured all three points and 9 league wins in a row. Staggies fans will be hoping to see what he can do against First Division opposition next season.

Paul is the sixth member of the current squad to commit to County - joining Alex Keddie, Stuart Golabek, Martin Scott, Dene Shields and Sean Higgins in doing so - and Derek has also agreed pre-contracts with two players with recent SPL experience. Out of respect to both the players and their present Clubs these players have not as yet been named.

Ex-Alloa Athletic goal keeper Alan Creer has also joined the ranks, and his ability and sheer size, he's 6'4", will ensure competition for the number one shirt. Alan has signed until the end of this season.
