The aim at the start of last season was to take another step forward by finishing in the top half of the table in what was, if anything, an even more competitive First Division and whilst we did indeed achieve this aim that is not even half the story of what has been perhaps the most momentous season in the club’s history. The run to the Scottish Cup Final, despatching both Hibs and Celtic on the way, has secured the Club a place in Scottish Football History – as well as bringing the Club, Town, County and indeed the Highlands and Islands as a whole national and international fame and recognition. Despite working with an extremely limited budget and a small but tight knit squad of players, the Scottish Cup run was not the only highlight of the campaign – Derek and the team took us to the Quarter Finals of the Co-Operative Insurance Cup, the Semi-Final of the Alba Challenge Cup and we were challenging for the title until the final few weeks of the season.
Throughout the course of the season the support was fantastic and there were many occasions – notably the Quarter Final Replay against Hibernian – where the loud and enthusiastic crowd made a real difference to the team on the park.
Unfortunately in Football you never get long to rest on your laurels and so planning for Season 2010/11 is already well under way. The Director of Football and the Manager have already secured the signatures of 14 key players from the current squad as we look to continue to take the Club and the team forward. There are new challenges to face in the league as Falkirk, Stirling Albion and Cowdenbeath join what has consistently proved to be one of the toughest divisions in the country – not to mention one of the most entertaining – and despite the changes in teams there is little reason to doubt the coming season will maintain this record.
We have, as always, undertaken a review of both our Match and Season Ticket prices for the coming campaign and having held them at the same levels for the past two seasons there will be a slight increase for 2010/11. Adult match tickets will increase by £1 to £16 for the East and West Stands and £14 for the Terracing with concessions (OAPs/Students/Under 18s) also rising by £1 to £8 and £7. Ticket prices for children under 16 have been held for the third year in a row at £4 and £3 for Stands and Terracing respectively. Adult and Concession Season Tickets have risen in line with these modest price increases, meaning that they will continue to offer the equivalent of 5 of the 18 League games free whilst anyone purchasing their Season Ticket by Friday the 2nd of July will also receive a voucher for free entry to the first home cup game of the Season and a one off 10% discount voucher for the Club Shop.
The biggest change to Season Tickets for the coming season is for Children. Not only have we reduced the price for all Children’s Season Tickets to a flat rate of £20, but when you purchase a full price Adult Season Ticket all Children aged under 12 in the family qualify for completely free Season Tickets.
Season tickets can be purchased now by calling the Club on 01349 860860, visiting the main reception at the stadium or right here on-line. Having introduced staged payments last season we will continue to give you the option to pay in two or three instalments (not available on-line) at mutually convenient dates.
