The U19's finally managed to complete their League matches last night with an away trip to Berwick Rangers. The long journey south didn’t deter them from gaining their 19th league win of the season to finish top on 57 points out of a possible 60. Once again we wish to congratulate David Kirkwood and his team for this tremendous achievement, and wish them well not only in the forthcoming SFA Youth Cup semi-final game against Rangers, but also in the League Cup where they have been drawn against Dundee, St Johnstone and Arbroath. Further details of these ties can be found in the Fixtures section or by contacting Allison on 01349 860881 or allison.more@rosscountyfootballclub.co.uk

16.02.2007

Congratulations from everyone at Ross County FC to our U19’s who clinched the SFL U19 League title this week with 2 games still to play. This is a tremendous achievement for Manager David Kirkwood and his young squad and capped off a great week for them after their victory over Hibs in the SFA Youth Cup quarter final. With the Club committed to developing talent in house, this is a big boost for us as we look towards the future.
As the icing on the cake, the draw for the Semi-Finals of the Youth Cup were made today (Thursday 22nd February) and the U19's will play host to Rangers. Although the date is still to be confirmed, this will be a great opportunity for the boys to show what they can do against the their counterparts from Murray Park.

16.02.2007

Ross County U19's secured their place in the semi finals of the SFA Youth Cup with a magnificent win over SPL side Hibernian. For all those who turned out to see the game, they could not have been anything else but impressed with the display of the County youngsters who battled throughout the game to claim a deserved victory. A first half goal from Craig Frizzel, and two second half goals from Gary Mackay Steven and David Allan saw the final score finish 3 -2.

County will find out their opponents next Thursday after all the other quarter final games have been completed. The next round is due to take place on Wednesday 4th April.

09.02.2007

This Sundays League game v Airdrie has been postponed due to a frozen pitch meaning that the League title will have to wait at least one more week before it is decided. The boys next game is on Wednesday 14th Feb at Victoria Park in the quarter finals of the SFA Youth Cup when the opponents are SPL side Hibs. Kick off 7.00 pm.

07.02.2007

This Sunday (11th Feb) sees the U19's face Airdrie at home, in what could prove to be the League Title winning game. If the boys manage to succeed then this would be a fantastic achievement for both them and David Kirkwood who has put in a lot of hard work with this squad since his arrival last summer. We would urge as many fans as possible to come along and support the boys this weekend, and as usual there is no charge for spectators. The game kicks off at 1.00 pm on the Jubilee pitches.

The following Wednesday Hibs will the opposition in the Quarter Final of the SFA Youth Cup. This years squad will be hoping to go one better than last years U19's who lost narrowly to Aberdeen at the same stage of the competition. The game is taking place on Victoria Park with a 7.00 pm kick off. Prices are: Adults £3, Concession £2 and U16's free. With County having no 1st team home games for a couple of weeks it is hoped that fans will turn up in force to support the U19's.

17.01.2007

Sunday 21st Jan sees Ross County U19's closest rivals travel up to Dingwall for a top of the table clash in the SFL U19 Youth League. Gretna, who although lie 16 points behind County have 4 games in hand, so a win for County will go a long way in deciding where the title ends up. The boys welcome as much support as possible to this game which kicks off at 2.00 pm on the Jubilee pitches and is free to watch.

Last Saturday the U19's played in the SFA Youth Cup and hosted East Fife here at Victoria Park. This was County 1st game in this years Cup having been seeded after reaching the last 8 the previous year. On what was a bitterly cold and wet Saturday afternoon the boys played well and won the tie 4-1. Scorers were Mark Nicolson, David Allan (2) and John Cameron. Thanks to everyone who came along to Victoria Park to support the U19's which was greatly appreciated by all the players and staff.

The draw for the 4th Round of the SFA Youth Cup took place on Wednesday 15th November. Ross County have been drawn away to either Hamilton Academical or Dalbeattie Star who are playing their 3rd round tie this coming Sunday. If Hamilton run out victors in this tie it will set up a repeat of last years 4th round tie when Hamilton came up to Victoria Park, a tie which County comfortably won 2-0.
