MEET THE COACHES


 

Steven Ferguson

Steven Ferguson

 

Steven Ferguson is head of Ross County Football Club's Community Department with a responsibility for co-ordinating the clubs full community football programme across the Highlands.

 

Included in this is Steven's role as the Scottish FA Community Coach for the same region driving forward all Scottish FA initiatives in schools and clubs as well as delivering an extensive Scottish FA Coach Education Programme.

 

'Fergie' enjoyed a colourful playing career winning Scottish league championship medals with both Ross County FC and Brechin City FC, playing a career total of 321 Scottish league and cup games scoring 57 goals. With 208 games and 51 goals coming in Ross County colours he was honoured by the County supporters at the clubs 'legends' night back in 2003.

 

Steven was previously Head of Community at Stenhousemuir FC then the Scottish FA Football Development Officer for Clackmannanshire and his role at Ross County FC now enables him to combine the two. His coaching qualifications include the Scottish FA Advanced Youth & Advanced Children's Licence Diplomas and he is currently working towards completing his UEFA B Licence.

 

 

Gordon Duff

 

Gordon Duff

 

Gordon has been with the club since 2005 where he started as a modern apprentice. Now a full time member off staff Gordon is one off the core members off the Community Team.

His main role at the club is to co-ordinate Ross County's "Little Dribblers" pre-school programme, which involves introducing three and four year olds to the basic skills of football. Gordon is also involved in Ross County's Youth Initiative, delivering and monitoring the progress of RCFC U16s. Gordon has been proactive over the past two years in developing his coaching knowledge and is now qualified to Level 4 in the Youth SFA Coach Education pathway and is currently working towards completing his Level 4 in the Children's SFA Coach Education pathway.

Gordon is from Dingwall and played for Ross County's Under 15's squad and continues to play football in the surrounding area for Dingwall Thistle. Gordon is a popular character with the kids in the community whose positive attitude and energy reflects well on the young footballers he coaches.

 

 

Charlie McPhee

 

Charlie McPhee

 

Charlie is a local lad, having attended both Dingwall Primary and Dingwall Academy. He is currently qualified to Level 4 in the Youth SFA Coach Education pathway and is currently working towards completing his Level 4 in the Children's SFA Coach Education pathway.

 

Charlie has been involved in a variety of football, having taken an extremely successful Dingwall Academy school team for three years, in which he organised a football trip to the Maltese island of Gozo and also works closely with Mr. D. MacIntosh, Head of PE at Dingwall Academy.

 

Charlie has also been involved in the North Regional Squad trials over the last two years and has assisted at some games, in addition to this he has taken squads for Clachnacuddin Youth Development and coached them in a variety of different tournaments throughout Europe.

 

Charlie is the Head Coach for the SFA North Region Girls Development Squad working along side Peter Budge from the Scottish FA.
