The Tesco Bank football challenge
is a programme run by the Scottish FA and Ross County Football Club
which promotes football and physical activity opportunities for
primary school aged children {focus age primary 2 and primary 3}
with a view to stimulating a lifetime involvement in the game.
The Scottish FA has developed the
programme with a number of key objectives in mind:
Igniting young peoples' interest and passion in
football.
Stimulating an increase in provision and quality
of schools football.
Providing a unique, worthwhile and memorable
football experience.
Creating easy access for players into
Scotland player pathway.
Ross County Football Club will aim
to reach as many of the primary schools across the Highlands with
this programme which will provide for many young people their first
experience of formal football. Our aim is to make this a memorable
and worthwhile experience which helps create a 'desire to play'
football.
This programme is designed to give
all children regardless of ability or gender an opportunity to
achieve and feel success in sport. Football can provide young
people with many positives outcomes and a key role for those who
work with young people will be to follow a positive coaching
philosophy which follows the following key principles:
Honour our game -
sportsmanship
Redefining
winning
Building
confidence
