With the score at one goal a
piece, last night's game at Palmerston Park was abandoned early in
the second half due to floodlight failure.
The home side took the lead
on eight minutes through Willie McLaren, reacting first to a good
penalty save by McGovern. But the Staggies showed great
character and just ten minutes later it was one of Willie McStay's
January acquisitions that levelled the score; Marc Fitzpatrick
rising highest at a corner to bury his header home from six
yards.
When a portion of the lights
went out on sixty-five minutes the referee brought a temporary halt
to proceedings, following a subsequent twenty minute delay he
eventually decided to abandon the game, leaving County to
face another long mid-week trip to Dumfries.
Full details of the
rescheduled date will be posted here as soon as we receive
confirmation of them from the SFL.
