Kurtis Byrne scoring his first competitive goal for Club - and
indeed the team's first league goal of the season - was scant
consolation from a trip to New Douglas Park that saw the Accies
beat the ten man Staggies by five goals to one.
The team will feel the four goal margin particularly harsh as,
despite being reduced to ten men just before the half time break
when Jonathan Flynn received a straight red for a tackle on Matt
Paterson inside the box, Billy Reid's side didn't dominate the game
for any significant period of time. Indeed prior to Grant Anderson
scoring the home side's fifth goal, County built up a period of
sustained pressure and created a number of chances which could have
reduced the deficit significantly.
The disappointment will now be put firmly behind them as the
team prepare for the home game against Queen of the South this
Saturday, the 20th of August, although with another trip to
Hamilton next Tuesday (the 24th) in the Second round of the
Scottish Communities League Cup the opportunity for revenge will
doubtless cross the minds of one or two Staggies.
Fans wanting to get behind the team at both of these games will
be able to do so whilst benefiting from great value prices.
Admission prices for the Cup match at Hamilton have been set at
just £10 for adults, £5 for over 65s and £1 for under 18s while
fans heading for Victoria Park this Saturday are still able to
benefit from the savings offered by Season Tickets which will be on
sale right up until kick off from the Main Reception.
Season Tickets start at just £20 for Under 16s whilst all adults
and concessions save at least the cost of four games when compared
to buying individual match tickets and there are also free Season
Tickets for under 12s when you buy a full price adult. For more
details pop into Reception during the week or on Saturday or call
01349 860860 and choose option 1.
