Ross County maintained their place at the top of the
Irn-Bru Scottish Football League with a battling 1-0 win over
Hamilton.
It was the third time the two sides had met this season, with
the form guide showing one win a piece going into the game,
Saturday was however the first time the Staggies had the home
advantage.
County were forced into an early change with Sam Morrow limping
off, Gardyne the man replacing him after only 7 minutes.
A fine free kick from Iain Vigurs on 25 minutes came close to
opening the scoring; David Hutton at full stretch to tip it around
the post. The deadlock was finally broken 6 minutes later as
Grant Munro fired home from inside the box, his first goal in a
County shirt.
The hoops pushed hard to find an equaliser but County's defence
stood strong, with Michael Fraser rarely troubled.
The result take the Dingwall sides unbeaten league run to 8
games, with four wins on the bounce, a fine record that will be
tested in the coming weeks with tough trips away to both Morton and
Partick.
