Victory over Partick Thistle on Saturday not only ensured County
held on to top spot in the table for another week but also took
Ross County's unbeaten run in the First Division to ten games, with
Iain Vigurs first half strike also taking the winning run to 6
games in a row.
It could easily have been a more convincing margin of victory,
with Colin McMenamin seeing his header come back off the underside
of the bar and home keeper Ryan Scully pulling off a string of
saves to deny the Staggies. The keeper was helpless however when a
defensive clearance broke to Vigurs 25 yards out and the midfielder
chested the ball down to volley with his left foot into the top
right hand corner. It was truly a goal worthy of winning any game
and ensured County go into this Saturday's top of the table clash
against second placed Falkirk on a high.
