Born in Drumnadrochit, Fraser was
signed up by near neighbours Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2002.
He was previously a talented shinty player with Glenurquhart Shinty
Club but gave up the sport to pursue his professional ambitions.
His first team breakthrough came when Mark Brown signed for Celtic
in January 2007 promoting Michael to first choice keeper where he
gained a great deal of SPL experience. In January 2009 he signed a
pre-contract with Motherwell, and joined the club in the summer but
opportunities were limited following the arrival of John Ruddy on
loan from Everton. In search of first team football he made the
move to sunnier climes signing for Maltese Premier League
champions, Birkirkara prior to returning to his roots to sign for
the Staggies in the summer of 2011.
