Youth Department - Building for the Future
At Ross County we believe firmly
that Scottish Football Clubs have a responsibility to nurture and
develop talent from an early age. The foundations of the first Team
reach as far down as Development Squads of children still in
Primary School and stretch through Under 13, 14 & 16
levels.
Having identified the most talented and promising players from
across the region, the different squads are coached at least twice
a week by SFA qualified coaches. The aim of the training nights is
not just to prepare for games, but to give teams and individual
players a chance to practice their skills and techniques in a
controlled environment with experienced and qualified coaches on
hand to give them guidance and advice. There are also frequent
sessions which focus on the importance of other aspects of the game
such as teamwork and nutrition.
Youth Initiative matches are played
on Sundays and with all Youth games free to watch we welcome as
many spectators as possible to come along and support all our Youth
Teams.

This season Ross County's youth set-up has benefitted
enormously from the generosity of the Osvald Pub in Stord, Norway.
Robert Delis, proprietor of the Osvald Pub has become a close
friend of the Club following his first taste of Victoria
Park, nearly a decade ago. Having made over twenty trips to
Dingwall, through which he has introduced over eighty of his
friends to all things Ross County, Robert has successfully managed
to set up what can only be described as our Norwegian
Supporters' Club.
Anyone who visits Victoria Park will be well aware of the
Osvald Pub's advertising board that adorns the roof section of the
West Stand, in addition to this support Robert took it upon himself
to sponsor the vast majority of this season's Youth Kit, providing
training gear to over seventy five children.
So if you ever happen to be in Stord, Norway and find
yourself needing a County fix, be sure to pop into the Osvald
Pub, you will certainly be made to feel at home!
