Ross County can today confirm that Marcus Fraser will depart the club. At this time Marcus has declined a new contract and will move on following a highly successful 5-and-a-half-year period in Dingwall, where we thank him for his great service as both a player and captain of the club.
Marcus joined Ross County in January 2015 from Celtic making his debut 4 days after joining against his former club. Marcus went on to be an integral part of our League Cup, Challenge Cup and Championship winning sides in recent years. Amassing over 190 appearances for the club, Marcus has also been an exemplary professional at the club supporting a range of local charity and community initiatives and absolutely embracing our “more than just a football club” motto.
On behalf of everybody connected with Ross County we thank Marcus for his dedicated service to the club and his commitment to being not just a player, but a leader for our club. To Marcus, his partner Nicole and son Maddox, we wish you all the very best for the future and you will always be warmly welcomed back here in Dingwall.
Co-managers Stuart Kettlewell & Steven Ferguson said,
“Marcus has been a tremendous servant to this club, and I am sure will always be fondly remembered by the Ross County family. Personally, we can’t thank Marcus enough for his commitment, dedication and professionalism during his time with us and the club, he has always given 100% for this club.”
“Having played a big part in some of the clubs most successful moments in recent times it is important that we take this time to applaud a player who has dedicated a lot to our club. We wish Marcus and his young family the very best going forward.”
