With the latest round of Loan Watch fixtures falling just days after Hogmanay, every team was hoping for no New Year hangover heading in to important matches for their clubs.
Declan McManus showed no sign of hangover as he notched a brace for Falkirk. The Bairns, now undefeated in their last 5 league fixtures remain in third place after their 3-0 win over Dumbarton. That result leaves them just 3 points off league leaders Raith Rovers.
Ross Munro and his Raith team maintained their position at the top of Ladbrokes League One. Rovers overcoming Peterhead 2-1 thanks to goals from Tait and Gullan, who also had McKay sent off.
Gregor MacDonald and Declan Hughes faced off as Keith hosted Forres Mechanics. In what could be classed as a shock result, Keith overcame the Can Cans 4-1 to bring them to within just 2 points of Forres in 7th place.
James Wallace and Tom Kelly were on the winning side with their Brora Rangers team again as they maintained their position in 1st place. Wallace scored the 2nd of 4 goals to which Huntly had no reply as the Cattachs claimed another 3 points at Christie Park in Aberdeenshire.
Jack Murray saw an early yellow card as his Buckie side fell to a late Connor Gethins goal as they lost 2-1 at North Lodge Park to Formartine United. In a tight affair chances were few and far between but McAskill levelled from the spot after the home side took the lead and Gethins popped up with a winner in the 3rd minute of stoppage time.
