Ross Munro is looking to keep his grasp on the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup with loan club Raith Rovers. The Staggies Keeper on loan at Starks Park, kept goal when County won the competition last season and produced some good saves as his Raith team overcame Glenavon 3-1 on Saturday to progress a step closer to the final.
Declan Hughes made it two goals in two games for his loan side Forres Mechanics as they recorded a 4-1 win at The Haughs against Turriff United. After scoring last Wednesday in their midweek victory over Fort William, Hughes grabbed his 2nd goal for the Mosset Park club with 33 minutes gone on Saturday.
Jack Murray’s Buckie Thistle maintained their fine start to the season with a 2-1 home win against Nairn County. Murray’s goal on the hour mark proved to be the winner, which keeps the Buckie Jags at the top of the Highland League table.
Tom Kelly, James Wallace and their Brora Rangers teammates were edged out 1-0 at home against Fraserburgh on Saturday. In a game that presented little in terms of goal-mouth action, The Broch managed to sneak away with the 3 points after scoring with 15 minutes to go. The result ended a positive week which saw Wallace get on the score sheet in the Cattachs 3-2 midweek win at Keith.
Jack Grant and Gregor MacDonald were on the receiving end of a 4-0 loss at Harlaw Park as their Keith side lost out to Inverurie Loco’s. The loss a shock given how close they went to getting something against Brora Rangers in Midweek.
