Loan Watch No frost bite for red hot Brora

Tom Kelly & James Wallace played their part as red-hot Brora Rangers made it through to the next round of the Highland League Cup. Wallace made a substitute appearance for the Cattachs whilst Kelly started for Steven MacKay’s side. That’s now two weeks running Brora have won by 7-0, with Buckie Thistle and Turriff not being able to match the Sutherland side.

Ross Munro and his Raith teammates made it through to the semi-finals of the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup after a 3-2 win over Elgin City. Raith led 3-1 with 6 minutes to go before Shane Sutherland pulled a late goal back for Elgin to make it a nervy ending for Rovers who managed to see through the result and head for the semi-final draw.

Joel MacBeath came on as a second half substitute as his Montrose side made it 7 matches undefeated. A 0-0 draw with Peterhead at Balmoor was enough to keep Montrose undefeated and in 5th place in Ladbrokes League One.

Declan McManus and his Falkirk side stay in 4th place after McManus’ 90th minute penalty rescued a draw for the Bairns at Dumbarton. Still only 3 points off 1st place in the league, the Bairns are on the search for a new manager with Ray MacKinnon departing after the match.

Declan Hughes and his Forres Mechanics side also made it through to Round 2 of the Highland League Cup. Hughes started the match as the Can Cans flew past Strathspey Thistle 2-0 in Grantown.

Jack Murray, Gregor MacDonald & Jack Grant, saw their matches postponed due to frozen pitches.
