MATCH PREVIEW Ross County v Hamilton Accies

This weekend sees 9th face off against 10th in the Ladbrokes Premiership as Ross County welcome Hamilton Accies to the Global Energy Stadium. The Staggies will be aiming to increase the gap over the visitors going in to this one with only 8 matches remaining in this campaign and both teams trying to remain in the division.

Steven Ferguson & Stuart Kettlewell’s team are undefeated against their visitors this weekend after an opening day 3-0 over the Accies in August and a 2-2 draw in North Lanarkshire in early November. The Co-managers will also be buoyed by the fact they have taken 12 points from a possible 18, and remain unbeaten, against bottom six opposition this campaign at home.

Team News

For County, Tom Grivosti, Michael Gardyne, Coll Donaldson and Joe Chalmers remain sidelined. However, the return of joint top-scorer Ross Stewart to the starting line up last Sunday against Rangers was a welcomed one for County going in to the remaining fixtures. The Staggies Management duo will be happy to have come through the two matches last week without adding to the injury list.

Men to Watch

Marios Ogkmpoe

The Striker has been a massive asset to the Accies this campaign and is currently their leading goal scorer on 6 for the campaign. His physical presence and deadly strikes could be the difference in keeping Brian Rice’s side in the league.

Lewis Smith

The young midfielder has made quite the impression in recent times. His endeavour, ability and desire to take on opponents can help to drive Accies forward in the final third. As well as being the playmaker, Smith has also chipped in with some vital finishes this campaign.

Alexander Gogic

Gogic has played a vital part in the Accies team this campaign. A more versatile player Gogic can be found in defensive midfield roles as well as slotting in to the back line when required. Not one to shy away from a tackle, Gogic has been an important player for Brian Rice this term.
