Ross County endured a tough afternoon at the Tony Macaroni Arena as they fell to their first defeat in three matches. Two goals in either half sealed the win for a Livi side that, with the win, send the Staggies down to 8th place.
County started on the front foot and on 8 minutes could have gone ahead. Harry Paton slipped in Josh Mullin on the right and his deep, back post cross found the head of Erwin who could only send his header wide.
Livi then threatened. It was good build up play from the hosts and the ball fell to Pittman on the edge of the box but his shot was brilliantly saved by Nathan Baxter in the Staggies goal.
The home side would not be denied just moments later. A long throw to the near post was caught between legs but was hit across goal where Lamie would be found waiting in the middle of the box unmarked and hammer home from just yards out.
Josh Mullin would respond for the Staggies. He peeled in from the right and with a clear sight of goal took aim from 25 yards. As the ball headed towards goal it took two strong hands from the Livi goalkeeper Sarkic to deny the former Livi midfielder bringing the match level.
As the Staggies searched for a way back in to the match they would be dealt the ultimate sucker punch just four minutes before the break. A Livi corner was cleared to the edge of the box and Lyndon Dykes was found unmarked at the right hand side of the box 10 yards out to hammer home a shot past Baxter and give the home side a two goal cushion at the break.
Just four minutes after the break and Livingston would notch their third goal. Bartley shot from range and it was saved well by Baxter down to his right but Livi reacted quickest pulling the ball back to Dykes in the centre of the box who had the easiest task but to put the ball in to the net from close range.
Livingston would score their fourth and kill the game with 16 minutes remaining. As Ross County would be searching for a way to get back in to the game Livi would break at pace and the ball from the right was sent in to the near post area where Dykes would claim his hat-trick with a neat header beyond Baxter to seal the match.
Its now on to Boxing Day where the Staggies will host Motherwell. Will the Staggies be able to replicate their 2-1 win from Fir Park earlier this season and claim another vital 3 Premiership points.
