Following today's 3-2 defeat in the Betfred Cup to Partick Thistle we managed to get the thoughts of Co-Manager Steven Ferguson after the match.
“It’s a very difficult one to take. You think after taking the lead with 30 minutes to go that we could build on it or see the game out but we didn’t do either. Full credit to Partick Thistle they didn’t give up at any point and had a bit between their teeth for the whole match.”
“Today, we haven’t hit the levels that we have set. That is disappointing, but equally you look how hard the guys have worked since we came back in pre-season. It’s a tough one today but we cant be too critical of them for what they have achieved in the lead up to today. It was a great opportunity to get to the quarter finals of a national cup competition but its past now and we have to move on to next weeks match v Livingston”
“Partick Thistle were organised, they were quite direct at times and have some good experienced heads but we had enough chances to win the game we just didn’t take them today. They worked exceptionally hard today, harder than I have seen some Thistle teams work during a match. We wish them all the best in the next round of the competition”
