Academy prospects sign full-time apprenticeships

12/06/2026

Ross County FC are delighted to announce the signing of two academy players on full-time apprenticeships with the club.

Defender Ruaridh Campbell, from Alness, and forward Sam MacLennan, from Stornoway, have both agreed deals with the Staggies and will continue their football journey with the club.

Campbell, who attended Dingwall Academy, has been in the club's academy set up for over nine years and now makes the jump to play full-time football with the club.

MacLennan, who hails from the Western Isles, was scouted by the club during a school holiday community programme run by Ross County’s community team.

On the signing of the pair, Head of Youth Development and Operations, Gordan Duff, said: “We are delighted to see both Ruaridh and Sam take this important next step in their development with Ross County Football Club.

“They have shown great commitment, attitude and ability throughout their time within our academy, and this opportunity is a reward for the hard work they have put in over a number of years.

“Our aim is always to provide a pathway for young players to progress and represent the club, and both boys have earned that chance.

“I'd also like to thank our academy staff, community coaches and everyone involved in their journey so far, as their support has played a significant role in helping Ruaridh and Sam reach this stage.

“We look forward to continuing to work with them and helping them fulfil their potential as they begin the next chapter of their football careers with Ross County."

Well done, Ruaridh and Sam!
