Academy Scouting Network additions

Following our earlier appointment of John McLeod as the clubs new Head of Academy Recruitment, we can now confirm some of the team John will have in place for this new chapter in our Academy.

The club has moved fast to support John with Talent Identification Scouts being brought in across a spread of geographical locations tasked with supporting our club in this new recruitment function within our academy.

Former Staggies midfielder Kenny Gilbert will be joining as Lead Area Scout for the Aberdeen City & Shire areas. Kenny is one of County’s record appearance holders and was a massive part in the clubs rise through the divisions under the management of Neale Cooper. Now based in Aberdeen, Kenny will volunteer time to support our academy by scouting across the Granite City and its suburbs.

Another former Staggie in the shape of Dave Mackay will also join as a Lead Area Scout. Dave, who has spent a lot of time supporting our academy throughout the years will support John by covering the Ross-shire area. As well as a strong playing career, Dave has also had highly successful periods coaching and managing in both mens and academy football.

Elsewhere, Gary Souter will join us as Lead Area Scout for Moray, Gordon Clark will fill the same role in Caithness & Sutherland.

Locally we will also utilise current Academy volunteers Lewis MacLean and Graeme Sutherland in addition to David Ross.

We are excited to be strengthening our academy with these additions to our team.
