Chairman's Festive Message

21/12/2022

Chairman Roy MacGregor shares his festive message to supporters as 2022 comes to a close:

I want to thank you all for another year of unwavering support and commitment to Ross County, as again we strive to exceed expectations in the Scottish Premiership.

When we go back to 1929, this club was founded on a unity and togetherness from the Seaforth Highlanders. These values are still very evident in our presence here today and are values that, heading in to 2023, we will need to continue to strengthen. Our club has had an wonderful journey since those early days and we can only keep achieving this success by being ‘as one’.

In 2022, we managed to finish in the top six against all odds and, so far this season, we have given ourselves a platform to continue our journey in the cinch Premiership. One of the biggest contributing factors to our journey has been you- and the part you can play in 2023 cannot and should not be underestimated. I have to congratulate Malky, the staff and the players on a remarkable year and we know that this season is certainly one of the strongest Premierships there has been. As a club in the Highlands, we must never lose sight of what makes us unique in Scottish Football and what characteristics & togetherness it takes to achieve success.

I would also like to pay tribute to all of our staff across Ross County FC. From our Commercial team who have gone over and above to achieve consistent success, our Academy & Foundation staff who continue to work hard on the front line, and our operations team which includes the accounts, safety and grounds staff - without these departments our club couldn’t open the doors every day. In addition, I want to recognise our Chief Executive Officer, Steven Ferguson who has led our football club so professionally and passionately across 2022.

It’s not about reaching the destination, it’s about enjoying the journey. There are so many moments on the journey that we need to enjoy- the small wins, the big wins and the changes in direction that come along the way. The destination can move and adjust but for Ross County it will always be about getting together and moving down the road, taking in the moments that we can, celebrating them and keeping on that road map.

This year, more than most, I have been overjoyed by our community engagement and how much we are doing for our people. This is only a start as we have relaunched The Ross County Foundation and already we have secured funding to deliver a range of community initiatives in the next year. We, as a collective, acknowledge the important part we play in our communities and we want to continue to be there for our people, during what is going to be a challenging 2023 for many families and individuals.

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and here’s to what we hope will be an exciting 12 months ahead for everybody across the Highlands & Islands.

Roy
