Club News: COVID-19 Update

06/01/2021

Firstly, we would like to support our government in asking for the full co-operation of our fans in adhering to the new restrictions set out earlier this week. The vaccines have definitely given us light at the end of the tunnel, but the light gets further away if we overwhelm the NHS with the level of cases rising as they have been. By following the restrictions carefully, and strictly, we can suppress the virus and give more time and resource to the NHS to roll out the vaccines to protect our people.

As we are sure you can all imagine the new restrictions bring about further challenges for our club. We would like to give our thanks again to the Scottish and UK governments for the furlough scheme which, at this time, we will have to utilise to protect the future of our club. Various departments across the club will see staff furloughed with immediate effect. During this time, we ask for patience and understanding as we work with restricted staffing levels- this may result in some day-to-day functions taking slightly longer- the delivery of shop orders, replies to correspondence and various other functions. However, we will endeavour where possible to continue to meet your expectations.

We are extremely grateful that elite sport in Scotland has been given the green light to continue. We know exactly what sport and in particular football means to so many of you and with that in mind we hope that the continuation of elite sport will help you all during these challenging times.

We wish you all well and ask please, for your continued support and adherence to the guidance set out by the Scottish Government to help the fight against COVID-19.
