The Match Lowdown
Ross County are back on the road after two successive home matches, as the Staggies make the trip to Scotland’s newest city – Dunfermline. Kick-off is a 3:00 PM against Neil Lennon’s side.
Ross County
It has been a difficult start to the Championship campaign for the Staggies, who have picked up one point from our opening three Championship matches.
A difficult afternoon last weekend against Partick Thistle saw Don Cowie leave the club by mutual consent following a 3-1 defeat.
John Robertson is in charge of the squad on an interim basis and will gear the players up for our trip to Fife.
Player to Watch
Made captain by Don Cowie, Connor Randall will be feeling the effects of parting ways with a gaffer he has been with at the club since 2020.
After notching a goal in our defeat last week, he will be eager to continue leading by example.
Having operated at both full-back and in midfield this season, it will be interesting to see where interim manager John Robertson pitches his captain.

Dunfermline Athletic
With a win, a draw, and a loss to open the season, it has been a very mixed bag for Dunfermline in their opening stages of the William Hill Championship season.
Under Neil Lennon, they have shown progress and determination, with the aim of promotion not being out of reach whatsoever.
The Pars will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 loss in the Fife derby against Raith Rovers.
Led by Neil Lennon, they have a good mix of youth and experience through the ranks, and with a visit from manager-less County, they will certainly fancy their chances.
Player to Watch
Arguably their most impressive signing of the summer, The Pars signed Peruvian Jefferson Caceres from Sheffield United.
The attacking-minded player featured in their squad south of the border and, prior to that, put up some very impressive numbers in the Peruvian top flight.
Plying his trade with FBC Melgar, he netted on eight occasions while providing six assists for his teammates.
Previous Encounters
The last time these sides met was in the 2022 League Cup group stages. That ended in a 1-0 victory for County thanks to a goal from Jordy Hiwula.
Before that, the meetings came most regularly in 2019 – our last stint in the championship.
We defeated them comfortably on three occasions during that campaign.
In fact, Ross County are unbeaten in the last six matches versus the Pars, winning five.
Familiar Faces
Former County vice-captain Callum Morris was a mainstay at East End Park.
Joe Chalmers, Jordan White, Declan McManus, and Nicky Clark have also had spells at Athletic.
Team News
Noah Chilvers, Josh Reid, and Andrew Macleod are out.
