Five Players Pen New Deals
08/05/2026
Ross County Football Club are delighted to announce that Josh Reid, Andrew Macleod, Jamie Williamson, Calum Brown and Jayden Reid have all signed new one year contracts with the club.
The group have all been part of a journey which has seen them play through the ages in our youth academy, culminating in an already established strong bond between the club and the players.
Josh Reid made his first team debut under current manager Stuart Kettlewell in 2020, subsequently earning himself a move south to join Coventry City. Josh rejoined the Staggies in 2023 and has made over 30 appearances since his return, as well as enjoying a successful loan spell with Partick Thistle. Josh’s appearances were hampered by injuries last campaign, but the left-back is now fully fit.
Andrew Macleod, who hails from the Western Isles, also puts pen to paper following a fruitful loan spell with Highland League side Strathspey Thistle as he regained match sharpness following a long term injury. Midfielder Andrew broke into the first team during the 24/25 season, making appearances in both the League Cup and the Premiership.
Jamie Williamson made his debut for Ross County aged just 16 in the famous play-off victory versus Partick Thistle. The midfielder also signs on with the club following success with Strathspey Thistle and Nairn County during Highland League loan spells.
Calum Brown made his Ross County debut last season after impressing management with his training exploits, as well as a highly successful loan spell with Strathspey Thistle. The striker was named as the Jags Young Player of the Year, alongside midfielder Jamie Williamson.
Goalkeeper Jayden Reid has been part of a league and cup double winning season with North Caledonian League, soon to be Highland League, side Invergordon. Jayden has impressed between the sticks, and returned to the club to be part of the first team set-up during the second half of last campaign, working closely with our senior goalkeepers and coach Scott Thomson.
On the group penning new deals, manager Stuart Kettlewell said: “I’m delighted that all will be remaining at the club.
“Each of the lads have proven their hunger and ability - be it out on loan or showing what they can do training with us here through the week.
“There is real talent and potential, so it is now up to these guys to go and grasp that opportunity.
“It is important that we are able to build an identity in this next chapter for the football club, and having these players who already have a long term connection and understanding with the club bodes well.”
