Foodbank Collection This Weekend

01/09/2022

At this weekend’s match with Aberdeen, we will be hosting a foodbank collection in aid of Dingwall Community Fridge.

This follows the successful foodbank collection carried out last year by the club where 324kg’s of food was donated by supporters, players and staff.

The Dingwall Community Fridge has been a vital part of our local area for a number of years providing a key service for those in need of supplies. With the current cost of living crisis, it is important, now more than ever, to support organisations giving direct assistance to our local people.

Dingwall Community Fridge also carried out a cash collection at our match with Celtic on Wednesday night where 1st team player Alex Samuel went to meet some of the team.

Alex said, “There are a lot of societal issues at the moment relating to food poverty and the cost of living. It is becoming so difficult for families, young people, the elderly and unemployed to have what we would define as a decent standard of living because everything is rising in cost.”

“The work done by Dingwall Community Fridge is direct, you can really see the impact they have in our area and for our people in and around Dingwall. That comes down to a team of dedicated people that want to help people and without their commitment to the project it wouldn’t be sustainable.”

“We, as a club, are really proud to support Dingwall Community Fridge and we know how well our supporters did last year supporting the collection and hopefully we can do the same again this year.”

The Ross County Community van will be outside the stadium from 2.00pm on Saturday where supporters can drop off items from the list below:

Rice 1kg Bags, Long life fruit juice, UHT Milk, Tins of Potatoes, Weetabix/Cornflakes, Tins of Ham/Corned Beef, Tins of Mince, Oatcakes/Crackers, Jar of Instant Coffee, Washing Powder (small), Washing up liquid, Male/Female deodorant, Tins of Soup, Beans and Pulses.
