Foundation appoints 1st Player Ambassador

20/12/2022

The Ross County Foundation is delighted to unveil our first ever Player Ambassador from the Ross County 1st Team.

George Harmon has become the first player to represent the Foundation as an Ambassador since the inception of the club’s charitable arm in 2015.

As part of the role George will be actively involved in the promotion of Foundation Activities as well as being a voice and representative of the Foundation at events and appearances. Within the ambassador role, George will also be a key component in building relations with external organisations and stakeholders.

On the announcement, George said: “It’s great to be the first Ross County player that is an Ambassador for our Foundation. The club is steeped in the local community and that can be clearly seen by the work we do across the Highlands & Islands and is something I am really keen to endorse and support in the coming years.”

“A big part of the conversation that I had when coming to Ross County was around how unique the club is with its reach and community engagement, and we want to keep developing that and breaking barriers with the work our team of staff here does.”

George joined Ross County in summer 2022, after a stellar season with Oxford City. Following impressive displays in November 2022, George collected the Player of the Month award following two goals and an assist in matches against St Mirren & Hibernian.

Speaking on the appointment of George, Foundation Manager Dale Pryde-MacDonald explains: “Having that connection between the Foundation and the 1st team is vital. The players at Ross County see and understand the value of the work our Foundation carries out and this is just another way in which we can build success for our communities and our people.”

“I am really proud to welcome George as our first Player Ambassador, it’s a big moment for the Foundation and one that we hope will be warmly received by our stakeholders. To be able to have a 1st team player linking our work to the football club is essential and will serve both organisations well as we continue to grow and develop.”
