Jamie Williamson joins Strathspey as part of new cooperation agreement
16/01/2026
Ross County Football Club can confirm that Jamie Williamson has rejoined Strathspey Thistle FC on loan.
This deal comes as part of a new Cooperation Agreement between the clubs.
Cooperation Agreements enable players in the key ‘transition phase’ of 16-21, who are eligible to represent the Scotland national teams, to join a lower-league club but be able to move between the parent and cooperation club throughout the season to increase playing time.
Chief Executive Officer, Steven Ferguson, said: “We are delighted to be entering an agreement with the Strathspey as part of our football development strategy.
“This provides a great opportunity for our young players to get valuable game time – but also importantly, Ross County have the freedom to recall these players to be part of our first-team squad.
“We would like to thank Strathspey for their cooperation in this agreement and look forward to continuing our good relationship with them.”
Strathspey Thistle FC CEO Grant Mackellar said: “We are thrilled to finalise a cooperation agreement with Championship side Ross County. We already have a strong relationship with the club and are excited to build on it, providing opportunities for some of the best young talent in the Highlands to gain first-team experience.
“This season we have already benefited from having Jamie Williamson and Calum Brown on loan from Ross County. Jamie returned to Ross County a few weeks ago after being with us from the start of the season, and we are delighted to welcome him back to Strathspey Thistle as part of this cooperation agreement. We are grateful to Steven Ferguson and everyone at Ross County who worked hard to make this partnership possible.”
Everyone at the club wishes Jamie all the best during his spell at Seafield Park.
