Lewis Reid joins the Staggies

29/05/2026

Ross County Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Lewis Reid from Stranraer!

Reid, a 21-year-old centre back, joins the Staggies from League Two side Stranraer for an undisclosed fee.

Reid, who made 50 appearances last season, enjoyed a strong permanent spell with the Blues after a season on loan down south from Queen’s Park.

Lewis was voted as part of the PFA Scotland League 2 team of the year, showing just how strong a season he had.

Reid spent ten years in the Queen’s Park youth set-up, going on to make several appearances in both the Championship and the League Cup.

On the signing of the defender, manager Stuart Kettlewell said: “Lewis is a really exciting prospect.

“After two standout campaigns with Stranraer, he has worked very hard and earned himself the chance to come and play in a league above.

“Being a top nominee for player of the year shows just how highly rated he is, and he will do well if he can carry on that form.

“Having already made 80 appearances in senior football, he comes with a good background alongside his journey through the academy with Queen’s Park.

“Lewis will bring a defensive solidity and real presence in both boxes – he is one I’m looking forward to working with here at Ross County.”
