Several of our young Staggies were in competitive action over the weekend with their respective clubs, with many of them grabbing goals along the way.
At Seafield Park, Strathspey Thistle took on Devronvale and came out with an astounding 3-0 win. County youngster Calum Brown scored in the match to keep his streak going, whilst County midfielder Jamie Williamson also played a significant role in the match with a dominant performance.
The pair have been part of what has been a remarkable shift in form and mentality for the Granton side compared to last season, as they sit just five points away from their total tally from the previous campaign.
Midfielder Jamie Williamson said: “It was a game where we took our chances – we maybe had our backs to the wall at times during the game, but we rode our luck and, in the end, got the result we wanted quite convincingly.”

Elsewhere in the Highland League, Copeland Thain played his second game on loan at Clachnacuddin and made it two wins from two.
Coming up against Keith away from home at Kynoch Park, Thain started the match again as an attacking midfielder, turning in another very positive performance.
Reflecting on his performance, Copeland said: “The manager spoke to me before the game and said he wants me playing a bit higher to then drop in and get on the ball – I will keep making runs in behind and creating chances, then hopefully I will get on the scoresheet.”

Rio Hastings, Lewis Mackay, Jayden Reid and Torran Lambie all played key roles for Invergordon in the North Caledonian League as their push for another league title continued on the right path.
In an astounding 8-1 victory over Thurso, Rio Hastings scored to make it 4-0 early in the second half, before Lewis Mackay added two goals from midfield. Striker Torran Lambie also got back on the scoresheet in what rounded off an incredibly successful match for our Invergordon loanees.
Delighted with his two goals, Lewis Mackay commented, “Goals are something I have wanted to add to my game. I've been renowned for being a sitting midfielder, but I want to get more forward and add goals and assists to my game, and I feel I have made a good start to doing that.”
Lewis also sat down for a chat with the assistant manager: https://youtu.be/VAVFhx0oaJ8
Jamie and Calum take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Wednesday night in the North of Scotland Cup, while Copeland will lineup for Clach against the current champions, Brora Rangers.
Good luck, boys!
