Loan Watch: Invergordon Make History!

01/09/2025

Four young Staggies made history over the weekend as Invergordon reached the first round proper of the Scottish Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

The North Caledonian Champions took on Dunipace at our home, the Global Energy Stadium, which was their reward after beating Lochar Thistle 3-1.

Jayden Reid, Rio Hastings, Lewis Mackay and Torran Lambie all started the match for Invergordon, in what turned out to be a spectacular clash.

Gary Campbell’s side defeated Dunipace 3-1, after extra time.

Young County prospect Torran Lambie netted a hat-trick, first equalising the tie in the 93rd minute, before going on to score twice more in extra time to wrap up the historic win for the Ross-Shire side.

Invergordon will take on Glenafton in the next round in a big away trip for the club.

Elsewhere, Calum Brown and Jamie Williamson both started the match for Strathspey Thistle in their narrow 2-1 loss to Formartine United in the Highland League.

Copeland Thain wasn’t involved in Clachnacuddin’s impressive 1-1 draw away to Brechin City. The Ross County loanee missed out through injury.
