Loan Watch: Montrose magic for County pair

Several young County Academy stars have been plying their trade on loan this campaign and we take a look at their progress so far this campaign.

ADAM MACKINNON

The Central midfielder has been on-loan at League One outfit Montrose, under the guidance of former County player Stewart Petrie.

So far this season, Adam has made 11 appearances for the Links Park outfit, scoring twice- in a 4-2 win over Airdrie and the all-important goal in a 1-1 draw with Falkirk earlier this month. Adam also scooped the Man of the Match award for his performance against The Bairns in what has been an impressive period for the Stornoway-born midfielder.

Montrose currently sit in 3rd place in cinch League One after taking 6 wins and 3 draws from their opening 12 league matches.

MATTHEW WRIGHT

Matthew has also been on-loan at Montrose where he is beginning to make a big impression down in Angus.

Scoring four times in twelve games for The Gable Endies, Matthew is fast establishing himself as a confident finisher in League One after netting against Peterhead, Clyde and twice in last weekends 2-0 win over Dunfermline at Links Park.

His brace against The Pars also saw Matthew receive a Man of the Match award which is merit for a striker enjoying a rich vein of form in recent weeks. Can his goals help Montrose to close the gap on Dunfermline Athletic & FC Edinburgh at the top of the table.

RYAN MACLEMAN

Young midfielder Ryan MacLeman is enjoying life on loan at Forres Mechanics. Having played 15 matches to date, Ryan has contributed to the on-field success at Mosset Park that currently sees the Moray outfit sit in 8th place on the Highland League table.

During his 15 appearances Ryan has also chipped in with two goals. Notching his maiden goals in both the Highland Football League and Scottish Cup.

CONNALL EWAN

Connall is another youngster testing himself in the Highland League, joining Ryan at Forres Mechanics. The 17-year-old defender, has taken to the Mosset Park turf on 16 occasions so far this season and again has notched two goals for the Highland League side.

During his stint in Moray, Connall has been part of 4 clean sheets kept by Forres as they sit with 7 wins and 6 defeats from their opening 13 league matches.

LOGAN ROSS

Spending another season in Moray is Logan Ross who re-joined Lossiemouth for his third loan spell. Lossiemouth have endured a mixed bag so far this season with 5 wins, 0 draws and 8 defeats from their opening 13 league matches.

So far Logan has enjoyed league wins over Keith, Nairn County, Strathspey Thistle, Wick Academy and Turriff United. He has played in 12 of the 13 League matches for Lossiemouth so far this campaign, his other appearance for The Coasters was in a narrow 2-1 Scottish Cup defeat to Buckie Thistle.

ANDREW MACLEOD

Finally, Andrew MacLeod joined Clachnacuddin as the Summer turned to Autumn and has been somewhat hampered by injury. After joining the Lilywhites, Andrew would suffer a couple of short-term niggles but is now integrating himself as a strong member of the Clachnacuddin squad for the remainder of the Highland League Campaign.

Andrew has made a handful of appearances in the Highland League and is beginning to display a real threat from the middle of the park.
