Loan Watch: November 2022

14/11/2022

As the Winter Break for the World Cup begins, we look at some of our young prospects currently on loan across the Scottish Leagues.

ADAM MACKINNON & MATTHEW WRIGHT

Both Adam and Matthew continue to shine on loan at cinch League One side Montrose. The pair have contributed to a run that has seen Montrose lose only once in their last 7 games with Adam scoring in a 4-2 win over Airdrie and in the 1-1 draw with Falkirk.

Matthew has also marked 14 appearances for The Gable Endies with the striker scoring 5 goals including an impressive double in a 2-0 win over league leaders Dunfermline just 3 weeks ago. The contributions of Matthew & Adam have seen Montrose rise up the cinch League One table to third place with 8 wins and 3 draws from their opening 15 matches.

RYAN MACLEMAN & CONNALL EWAN

Forres Mechanics currently sit in 7th place on 22 points on the Highland League table with Ryan MacLeman and Connall Ewen both playing big parts in what will be deemed a successful start for Steven MacDonald’s Can Can’s.

Ryan has turned out for Forres on 18 occasions so far including in cup competitions with the midfielder bagging 2 goals for the side during that period. Ryan has also scooped Player of the Match for Forres as he continues to develop week on week.

Connall also continues to grow with each passing week, and he has managed to take to the field on 19 occasions in defensive roles for the Highland League side. Matching his County team mate, Connall has also managed to notch two goals from defence that have helped push the side to the top half of the table.

LOGAN ROSS

Logan has played 15 matches for Lossiemouth so far this campaign as the Moray outfit find themselves in 12th place on the Highland League table.

With Lossie yet to draw a match in the league its 5 wins and 9 defeats from their opening 14 league matches with Logan playing a big part in wins over Turriff United, Nairn County, Keith, Wick Academy and Strathspey Thistle.

ANDREW MACLEOD

After being hampered by injury Andrew now finds himself working his way in to a youthful Clachnacuddin side that also features County’s Head of Professional Academy Gary Warren.

Its been a challenging start to the season for Clach who currently sit in 15th place in the Highland League. With a young team of promising talent they are fighting tooth and nail for every point and Andrew will hope that his development at the Highland League side will help him, and the team, to prosper in coming weeks.
