MALKY | 'Striving for Consistency'

12/08/2022

Manager Malky Mackay is ‘striving for consistency’ when it comes to his sides’ performances and the importance of picking up a positive result this weekend.

Mackay’s side are yet to notch a point in the league but can be buoyed by the positives taken from two of last season’s top three in the opening pair of games of the cinch Premiership campaign.

“Everyone's striving for consistency of performance and you need results, but you need performances as well and performances eventually bring results, so we've just got to just keep going” said the Staggies boss.

“It's been a good this week the weather's been good up here and we've got plenty of good time on the grass and obviously the challenge now turns to St Mirren down at Paisley.

“We've got a reasonably new group here and they they're beginning to find their feet and [the] understanding of how they play with each other and how I want them to play”.

The Staggies travel to St Mirren this weekend – the only other side yet to register a point this season having recorded losses to Aberdeen and Motherwell. Saints boss Steve Robinson may still be relatively new at SMiSA Stadium, but the County boss knows all about his counterpart.

“Steve's a good guy, he’s a good manager and he’s someone I know well, so I'll be expecting an organised team and a team that run hard for him so we’re in for that challenge to start with, and you've got to match that before anything else.

Kick-Off in Paisley is at 3pm and updates will be available via our social media channels.
