MATCH PREVIEW | Livingston v Ross County

06/10/2022

It’s a third game in 7 days for Ross County as we travel to the Tony Macaroni Arena in West Lothian to face off with David Martindale’s Livingston FC.

TEAM NEWS

Connor Randall, George Harmon & Alex Samuel continue their rehab on long term injuries, aside from that it is a clean bill of health for Malky Mackay’s squad following two games in four days earlier this week.

LAST SEASON

The one thing you can guarantee when these sides meet is a tight affair.

The first meeting of the two looked destined for a 2-2 draw in Dingwall before Tom Parkes rose highest in the 94th minute to head home a late winner for Livingston to claim all three points.

A second meeting would prove to be another tight match. Just days before Christmas a David Cancola cracker from distance would give Ross County the lead and looked to be sending all three points back to Dingwall before Obileye met a deep cross at the back post in the final minute of the match to earn Livingston a draw on their home turf.

The final meeting of the season would come in February back at the Global Energy Stadium. Hearts-bound Alan Forrest gave the visitors a goal advance just after the break before Southampton loanee Kayne Ramsay flicked a 93rd minute cross beyond the Livingston goalkeeper to ensure County received their share of the spoils.

THE OPPOSITION

It has certainly been a mixed bag for the West Lothian outfit so far this season, with 4 wins and 4 defeats from their opening 8 fixtures.

After a very impressive opening day display at home against Rangers that yielded no points for The Lions, they would go on to win their next two matches away at Tannadice against Dundee United before a home win over Hibernian on Matchday 3.

Livingston would then suffer back-to-back defeats to Motherwell and Aberdeen before securing two impressive 1-0 home wins over Hearts and Kilmarnock to take 12 points from a potential 24 in this opening period of the cinch Premiership.
