New Contracts for Academy Graduates

08/03/2022

We are delighted to announce that Academy Graduates Matthew Wright, Adam MacKinnon and Logan Ross have today signed new deals with Ross County FC.

Matthew, who scored 21 times in 19 matches for Brora Rangers earlier this season, while on loan, has signed a new two-year deal. This comes after a memorable appearance for Ross County against Rangers in January where Matthew would score his first Premiership goal in the 95th minute to earn County a point against the reigning Champions.

Adam MacKinnon has also penned a new two-year deal at the Global Energy Stadium. Making his Premiership debut against St Johnstone a couple of weeks ago, MacKinnon has been part of the first team squad for some time and is also on the back of a loan spell at Brora Rangers earlier this season where he gained key game time.

Finally, Logan Ross has also joined Matthew & Adam in agreeing a new deal in Dingwall. Currently on loan at Lossiemouth, Logan has re-signed a one-year contract at the Global Energy Stadium. Having spent a significant amount of time in Highland League on loan for an 18-years old, Logan has been a big part of the goalkeeping unit at the club for the last two seasons and has shown a real eager attitude in his development.

On the new deals, Manager Malky Mackay has said “All three of these young players have been tremendous since I have come in. They are really eager and hungry to be successful as well as realistic in what they want to achieve. You would also struggle to find 3 more mannerly young players which is really pleasing.”

“Matty had an incredible moment against Rangers that really showed how big a player he could be for us in the future, and we managed to get Adam on the pitch recently too which is important to let them taste that Premiership environment.”

“Logan is another one that has really gone and pushed himself in the Highland League over the past couple of years. He will continue to improve and progress under the guidance of Scott Thomson over the next period of time and we will look forward to seeing his next steps.”
