Ryan Moreton Promoted to Head of County in the Community

19/11/2025

Ross County Football Club are delighted to confirm that Ryan Moreton has been promoted to Head of County in the Community.

Ryan has been involved with the department for a number of years now, and after a spell as interim head, he has been handed the top role on a permanent basis.

Congratulations, Ryan!

He said: "Obviously, I've been part of the community department for a good few years now, so to make the step up feels like the right time.

"We're going back 12, 13 years now, pretty much from when I left school, came in, did a few hours volunteering and stuck around to the point where I got a full-time job and now just progressed from there and kept pushing on."

On the work Ryan has done to earn the promotion, he said: "I think the big one for me is the success of our holiday programmes. That's always been a big part of the community department within Ross County and since I've taken the lead on that, we've grown it and we've gone to as many places across the Highlands and Islands as we can and put on different sessions to make sure we're catering for all ages and abilities.

"I think the big one is to continue growing what we've already made successful - and like I said, our holiday programmes, our school programmes are going really well, as well as all our after-school programmes across Dingwall and Inverness.

"I want to grow it as much as we can and to try and get out to as many different areas and different schools and put on as many different programmes as we can in these different areas, because right now we're working really well with the staff we've got. If we can grow our team, it means we can put on more and more programmes, more and more sessions for kids and adults as well, whether that's walking football or right down to our Mini-Kickers sessions."

With so many different sessions and camps being put on by the Community department, Ryan is thankful of the team around him who've helped him deliver such success on the pitches.

He continued: "The team around me are absolutely brilliant. A good number of them are fairly new to the job as well, and they've thrown themselves right in at the deep end. It's obviously not the easiest job at times working with kids, and some of them can be quite tricky, but the guys that we've got on our team, they've been different class, they've been really good."

Finally, Ryan added: "I think being on the grass, on the pitch every day is the big one for me. It doesn't feel like a stereotypical 'real job'.

"You're coming in, having a laugh with the kids, kicking a ball about with them. It's just a laugh. It doesn't feel like a real job at times.

"With this step up now, obviously there'll be a wee bit more responsibility on my shoulders, but this is where I want to grow it and try and get as many people in to do the job that I've been doing in previous years, and hopefully give them similar sorts of experiences that I've had."
