Schools Programme Kicks On

In 2019, Ross County FC embarked on an exciting and engaging new project with Schools across the Highlands. In the three years since the inception of our ‘Schools Programme’ we have worked with over 30 different schools in a number of different ways.

Our programme was originally created with support from local schools to help participation in activity and encouraging healthy lifestyles. We are currently working in over 20 schools this term engaging with children from Sutherland, Ross-shire and Inverness every week.

The ‘Schools Programme’ enables us to spend at least a half-day per week with each school throughout the academic year. This is only made achievable with the support of local businesses and other organisations who have funded us to carry out the project. We have seen some fantastic attachment from the school sponsors to their schools and continue to see these partnerships really benefit young people across the Highlands.

Throughout the project we have also encouraged young people to attend games and this season we have issued 1,341 FREE TICKETS to our school partners. This allows 1,341 children to come along and enjoy a day out to remember at the Global Energy Stadium at no cost and gives us all a sense of unity and togetherness in our approach to collaborative working.

“In the 3 years we have been doing this, we have now worked with some schools for 3 years and others for just a few months, but we always get the same enthusiasm and support with each school and that is what has led to our project being so successful.”

“I also thank the sponsors as without them we wouldn’t be able to do it. Also, within that some parent councils also fund our work and the commitment of people to back and support our work in schools has been absolutely tremendous.”
