Staggies Army continues to Grow

28/10/2020

Ross County FC are continuing to build for the future as we highlight the success of our Staggies Army which started in May 2020. The Army was designed to support the club for years to come as a monthly and annual membership platform offering benefits to members at the same time as investing in the next chapters of the Club’s history. The Army also helps fans and the Club to come together and help each other during these unprecedented times and our fans have made such an incredible difference to this football club with their support of the Staggies Army.

Ross County Chief Executive Steven Ferguson,

“We have had a great 7 months with the Army to date. To be honest we were overwhelmed with the support the Army has received, especially during such challenging times and we want to keep growing and building it. The Army isn’t just here for one year or one season its here for the future. We are constantly monitoring and reviewing the Army to ensure we are giving our members as much as we possibly can and we now want to take it to the next level by getting more people in to the Army and have more people helping us write the next chapters in our story.”

Stuart Kettlewell, Manager

“In over 10 years at this club, we haven’t seen anything so passionate and encouraging as the Staggies Army. We have created a stronger bond, set the foundations of something unique and we now have to try and take it to the next level.

By continuing to build and grow our army. By keeping all our army members on board for the coming years, we will see the fruits of our unity and we can all work and come together to help make this club even stronger.”

The Staggies Army has a 5-tier set up from Platinum, Gold and Silver to bespoke Kids and Away Supporter offerings. Within the offerings there are Season Ticket discounts, free introductory gifts, online shop discounts and much more that the club is able to offer fans during these difficult times. The Staggies Army has tried to give people a feel-good factor during what has undoubtedly been a horrible period and has become a common cause of us all, with football very much being in survival mode over these past few months. The Army has been so well supported inside the club as well as outside with players and staff taking up memberships across the various tiers to support the club.

So far over 70% of Army members also took up a 2020/21 season ticket with access to every home league match through RCFCTV. £864 of discount has been applied to shop sales via the member discount offerings. Over 150 metres of Harris Tweed were used in the making of the Introductory gifts, £276 worth of goods have been given away in the monthly prize draws and 5,611 letters have made up the names which will feature on a bespoke Macron designed Staggies Army top due to arrive in the coming weeks.

There is no doubting that not having fans in stadiums has been a real challenge for firstly, the fans themselves, but also for the players and management to feed off during games and it just continues to highlight the point we have been reinforcing since March that we need our supporters as much as our supporters need football. Without our supporters and their continued support for our Staggies Army, getting ourselves to the position we have over this period would have been extremely difficult and we now need to let the Army spread its wings and keep being ‘More than just a football club’.
