MALKY | 'Follow the Process'

County boss Malky Mackay has put his faith in the process as his Staggies side prepare to face Kilmarnock on Saturday.

The boss has shouldered responsibility for maintaining a level-headed mentality as his side seek their first points of the campaign. That’s why this weekend’s home game with Killie is an opportunity to kickstart their season.

“We're back home again and obviously we want to get over the disappointment of the game at the weekend and get back to winning ways” said Mackay.

“[It’s] my job to make sure that that happens from everyone at the football club and any sort of white noise actually is kept out with and I've been in it long enough to know that it's stability and we just keep making sure that we go out there and do the correct things and just follow the process.

“It's early days and we’ve just got to make sure that we keep knowing that we're doing things correctly and it'll come”.

Mackay’s side lost 1-0 at St Mirren last weekend having tasted defeat in previous weeks against Celtic and Heart of Midlothian home and away respectively.

Kilmarnock picked up a point on the opening day of the season at home to Dundee United with Ash Taylor’s stoppage time leveller reintroducing the Ayrshire side to the top flight, but have lost twice since against Rangers and most recently Celtic.

But Mackay knows Killie boss Derek McInnes is a stern test with any side.

“Number one, he is a very experienced manager, very good manager” he said of his Killie counterpart.

“[He’s] a guy I've known a long time, a good friend who we did coaching courses together.

“We were up against each other as players and also as managers as well so I know that he's already done well at Kilmarnock.

“Kilmarnock obviously have been a premier league club for a long time and you can see that it was there for the Celtic game, you can see it looks like a Premier League football club.

“Undoubtedly, it's gonna be a tough game at the weekend, without a doubt, it'll be organized, they'll be strong, they'll be structured and we know it's going to be a tough task”.
